14 meters deep.
In the aftermath of an unprecedented rain event that washed over vast regions, I found myself amidst a landscape transformed by nature's fury. The record-breaking rainfall had left its mark: homes engulfed, streets turned into rivers, and a community grappling with the aftermath.
As an Environmental Water Engineer, every day presented a new challenge. My boots became familiar with the muddy terrains of the affected areas, and my ears tuned into the stories of those who had experienced the deluge firsthand. From quaint neighborhoods to bustling commercial zones, I bore witness to the scars left by floodwater, stormwater runoff, and rainwater.
While the data I collected was extensive and detailed, I realized that the essence of my work went beyond mere numbers. By public account, the inundation of the town center was 14 meters deep.
